City Sponsored Garbage Contract for Residents Requested Feasibility Study
At our last council meeting, on October 7, 2019, I requested that council authorize city staff to conduct a feasibility study for garbage collection for our residents in our city. Several residents have asked why our city does not offer garbage collection and cite the increasing cost with less service of independent garbage collectors; the amount of garbage cans on the streets due to every resident having their own garbage pickup day; the noise and air pollution generated by the garbage trucks and the wear and tear on neighborhood streets.
I agree with you, that it is time for our city to take a step forward by protecting our environment and providing a much-needed service for you. Contracting garbage collection by the city will help all of us in managing our trash, yard waste and prevent wild animals and rodents from roaming our properties.
Unfortunately, my request for the feasibility study was denied.
I want you to know that I am not done with this request for a feasibility study for city contract garbage service. With your vote to re-elect me, I will continue to represent your interests and work for you and work for what is in the best interest of this city. Please mark your ballot for Candace Moon, Centennial City Council District 1.
